Privacy Policy

What we don’t collect

None of these apps require an account, email address, or sign-in. We do not collect your name, contact information, or project data on our own systems.

Specifically, we do not:

• Store your calculations, projects, or reports on Watson Consulting servers
• Sell or rent your information to data brokers
• Run our own advertising or tracking networks in HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280 or HVAC Duct Tools

Where your data lives

Projects, inputs, results, and settings are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to:

• Export or share a PDF report
• Email or message calculation results through the system share sheet

We do not receive copies of anything you share. Deleting the app removes locally stored data from your device. Standard device backups (for example iCloud or iTunes backups on iOS) may include app data as part of your device backup; that is governed by Apple or your backup provider, not by us.

Climate and reference data

HVAC Load Calculator and HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280 include bundled climate databases (US ZIP codes and Canadian postal areas). These databases ship inside the app and are read locally. Looking up a ZIP code or postal code does not transmit your location or project data to us.

This website

The sections above describe the apps. This site itself is separate, and it does collect a small amount of visit data.

• Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand which pages and free tools people actually use. These set cookies in your browser and share your IP address and general region with Google. You can block them with any standard browser setting, ad blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and every page and calculator on this site keeps working normally if you do.
• The free calculators run entirely in your browser. Square footage, ZIP code, duct dimensions, pressures — none of it is sent to us or to Google. The calculation happens on your device and the numbers stay there.
• What analytics does record is which page you viewed, which tool you used, whether a ZIP lookup matched exactly or fell back to a nearby city, the resulting climate zone, and whether you tapped an app-store link. The ZIP code itself is never sent.

We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or attempt to identify individual visitors.

App-specific notes

HVAC Load Calculator (US)

• Local storage: All project data stays on your device.
• Anonymous analytics: The app collects anonymized usage analytics via TelemetryDeck — no personal information, no device advertising IDs, and never your project data. Analytics are on by default for new installs and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
• Subscriptions: Optional Pro subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat handles purchase receipts only; it does not receive your calculation data.
• iCloud sync (iOS): If enabled, projects may sync between your Apple devices through your iCloud account. That sync is between your devices via Apple; we do not host project data.
• Location (optional): With your permission, the app may use your location once to suggest a ZIP code for climate lookup. Location is not sent to Watson Consulting servers.
• Photos (optional): You may add site photos or a company logo for PDF reports. Photos stay on your device unless you export a report.

HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280 (Canada)

• Local storage: All project data stays on your device.
• Anonymous analytics: The app collects anonymized usage analytics via TelemetryDeck — no personal information, no device advertising IDs, and never your project data. Analytics are on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings. No advertising SDKs.
• Purchases infrastructure: The app includes RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous device identifier and any purchase receipts. It does not receive your calculation data. The app is currently free with no paywall.
• iCloud sync (iOS): If enabled, projects may sync between your Apple devices through your iCloud account. That sync is between your devices via Apple; we do not host project data.
• Location (optional): With your permission, the app may use your location once to suggest a postal code for climate lookup. Location is not sent to Watson Consulting servers.
• Photos (optional): You may add site photos or a company logo for PDF reports. Photos stay on your device unless you export a report.

HVAC Duct Tools

• Fully offline: Duct sizing, static pressure checks, and system designs run entirely on your device.
• No analytics or ads: No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• Exports: PDF and CSV exports are generated on your device. Data leaves your phone only when you share or export a file.
• Optional feedback: If you choose to send feedback from inside the app, that message (and a small diagnostic snapshot) is sent to us — see “Feedback and diagnostics” below. Nothing is sent unless you tap send.

A2L Safe Charge

• Local storage: Calculation history, branding info, and preferences stay on your device.
• Ads (free version): The free version displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect information such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, and general region to deliver and measure ads. See Google’s advertising policies for details. On iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt controls whether personalized ads are allowed.
• Pro purchases: Optional in-app purchases may be processed by RevenueCat and the App Store. RevenueCat handles purchase receipts only.

Feedback and diagnostics (HVAC Duct Tools)

HVAC Duct Tools includes an optional in-app feedback feature. After you use certain features, the app may ask a quick “did this help?” question, and you can also write to us directly from the app. Sending feedback is always your choice — nothing is transmitted unless you tap send.

When you do send feedback, our server receives:

• Your feedback text and whether it was reported as an issue or praise
• The app version and build number
• Your device model and operating system version
• A short event log of what the feature did (steps and timings), so we can retrace what you saw

That’s the whole list. Feedback contains no account identifiers, no names or email addresses, no project or calculation data, and no personal information. We don’t log your IP address either — only a truncated one-way hash of it, used briefly to limit spam.

Each report is emailed to the developer and kept in a private log on our server. It is not shared with any third party, and it is retained only as long as needed to understand and fix the issue, then deleted.

Third-party services

Depending on which app you use and which features you enable, these third parties may be involved:

• Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and optional crash statistics governed by Apple or Google
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase receipt handling (HVAC Load Calculator, HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280, A2L Safe Charge when applicable)
• TelemetryDeck — anonymized usage analytics, on by default with an opt-out in Settings (HVAC Load Calculator and HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280)
• Google AdMob — advertising in the free version of A2L Safe Charge
• Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — visit analytics on this website only, not in any app
• Apple iCloud — optional cross-device project sync on iOS (HVAC Load Calculator and HVAC Load Calculator CSA F280)

None of these services receive your project or calculation content from us. Their use of any data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

These apps are professional field tools for qualified HVAC technicians. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we will post an updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes may also be noted in app update release notes.
